Offered for sale is a classic Smith & Wesson Model 19-5 Combat Magnum, chambered in .357 Magnum and fitted with the desirable 2.5 inch barrel. This revolver represents one of the most iconic law-enforcement sidearms ever produced and remains one of the most collectible K-frame revolvers in the Smith & Wesson lineup.
The Model 19 was developed with the guidance of legendary U.S. Border Patrol officer Bill Jordan, who envisioned a revolver that combined the power of the .357 Magnum cartridge with the lighter handling characteristics of Smith & Wesson’s K-frame platform. The result became the Combat Magnum, widely carried by law enforcement officers throughout the United States for decades.
This revolver is part of the 19-5 engineering series produced during the 1980s and represents the later production period of the classic Model 19 before modern manufacturing changes were introduced. Revolvers from this era are well known for their excellent machining quality, smooth double-action trigger pulls, and traditional craftsmanship associated with classic Smith & Wesson production.
This example features a blued carbon steel finish, a 2.5 inch barrel, and factory walnut Magna grips with Smith & Wesson medallions. The short barrel Combat Magnum configuration remains one of the most desirable carry revolvers produced by Smith & Wesson.
Condition is excellent, retaining strong original bluing with only minimal visible handling marks. The revolver appears well cared for with crisp edges, strong markings, and excellent overall presentation.
