This is a collector level configuration that represents the upper tier of FN production. A factory-matched 28 gauge and .410 set, both 26 1/2” ventilated rib barrels, signed by master engraver Kowalski, is a combination rarely encountered and increasingly difficult to replace.
The receiver engraving is signed Kowalski, reflecting the hand of one of Fabrique Nationale’s respected master engravers. The deep relief scroll, finely executed game scenes, sculpted borders, engraved long tang, and fully engraved trigger guard demonstrate classic Belgian Diana artistry at its finest. The engraving remains sharp and deeply cut with excellent definition, showing no evidence of polishing or loss of detail.

Condition is outstanding. The barrels retain strong original Belgian blue with crisp rib matting. The receiver surfaces are clean with sharp engraving and proper edge definition. The walnut stock displays excellent figure, rich factory finish, and sharp checkering. There is no evidence of refinish or restoration. Mechanically, the gun remains tight, properly timed, and functions exactly as it should.
Small bore Belgian Diana Grades have long been recognized as some of the most desirable variants within the Superposed line. While 12 gauge examples are encountered with some regularity, properly configured 28 gauge and .410 matched sets are scarce. Signed engraving examples are rarer still. This configuration places the gun firmly in the upper echelon of collectible Belgian Superposeds.
